Alekey Korol, Assistant Soccer Coach, Indiana University
Aleksey Korol joined the Indiana men's soccer staff in February 2009. Korol came to IU from Illinois-Chicago where he spent three seasons as an assistant coach for Hoosier alum John Trask. During his three seasons the Flames compiled a record of 38-13-17 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament each season. Korol is no stranger to championship success dating back to his four-year career at Indiana from 1996-99. During that period the Hoosiers won back-to-back NCAA titles in his junior and senior seasons and he made three College Cup appearances. During his senior campaign he netted 20 goals and became the first IU player in a decade to tally 50 points. He earned Big Ten Player of the Year, NSCAA All-America and Soccer America Player of the Year honors that season. He was later named to the Soccer America All-Decade team in the '90s. Korol currently ranks fourth on IU's all-time points scored list with 57 goals and 149 points. |
